4

g

baking soda

55

g

sugar

1

egg

600

ml

buttermilk

salt

Preparation method

  • Blend the flour, baking soda, sugar, and a pinch of salt.
  • Add the buttermilk to the dry ingredients in increments while continuing to stir. Make sure that you stir the batter before adding more buttermilk to prevent lumps from forming.
  • Beat the egg and mix into the batter.
  • Melt a little butter in a frying pan until it has stopped sizzling and starts to brown.
  • Use a tablespoon to spoon the pancakes batter into the pan.
  • Fry the pancake on medium heat for two to three minutes on each side. The pancake can be turned when the air bubbles at the top burst.

Serving suggestions

  • Serve the warm pancakes with butter, jam, or honey.
  • Serve with a sweet-flavoured butter such as strawberry butter and fresh strawberries.
