tomatoes, ripe (peeled if desired)



buffalo mozzarella, of outstanding quality



fresh basil

As needed:


extra virgin olive oil

As needed:


salt and pepper

Preparation method

  • Thinly slice the tomatoes and arrange on the plates.
  • Sprinkle the tomatoes with salt and pepper, and generously drizzle with olive oil.
  • Remove the mozzarella from its water and tear into pieces by hand.
  • Distribute the pieces over the tomato and garnish with the basil.
  • Finish with a liberal amount of olive oil and salt and pepper to taste. 

Serving suggestions

  • You can also drizzle the Caprese salad with a fine balsamic vinegar as a garnish.
