Ingredients

green asparagus

cloves

garlic, finely chopped

fresh ginger, wafer thin strips (julienne)

spring onion

oyster sauce

light soy sauce

Shaoxing rice wine

sesame oil

sugar

Preparation method

  • Cut off the woody ends of the green asparagus.
  • Now cut the asparagus into the desired shape.
  • Heat some peanut oil in a wok.
  • Add the cut asparagus and briefly stir-fry.
  • Gently fry the chopped garlic, fresh ginger, and chopped spring onions at the last minute so that they do not burn.
  • Season to taste with the oyster sauce, soy sauce, rice wine, sesame oil, and sugar.
  • Cook until done but still firm.

Serving suggestions

  • To accompany Asian-style chicken, quail, or duck.
  • To accompany Asian-style pork.
