Ingredients

butter, unsalted

brown shrimp, peeled

lemon, juice

fresh ginger, grated

ground cayenne pepper

Preparation method

  • Melt the butter.
  • Grate the nutmeg over the butter and stir well.
  • Mix the butter with the shrimp.
  • Stir in the lemon juice.
  • Portion into small cocottes or a different type of small dish.
  • Sprinkle over a little cayenne pepper and refrigerate for at least two hours.
  • Serve at room temperature.

Serving suggestions

  • Serve the potted shrimp as a snack served with bread, toast, or crostini.
  • As part of a composition with several preparations of prawns.
