Preparation method
- Wash and trim the French beans.
- Grind the onion, garlic, sambal, galangal, sugar, and salt into a paste.
- Gently fry the paste in the oil until the onions soften.
- Add the French beans and gently fry for a few minutes.
- Add the cube of creamed coconut, the lemongrass, and the Indonesian bay leaf.
- If the mixture becomes too dry, add a splash of water.
- Allow the dish to cook until the oil is released from the creamed coconut.
- Remove the lemongrass and bay leaf before serving.
Serving suggestions
- You can add pink prawns.
- Serve as part of an Indonesian rijsttafel (rice table).
