Preparation method

  • Begin by soaking the fresh cocktail onions in water for half an hour, to make them easier to clean.
  • Clean the cocktail onions and vacuum seal them with the butter and a little salt.
  • Cook in the microwave for 90 seconds at full power; this method will cook the onions until perfectly done without losing any flavour. Preparing them this way also helps them caramelise beautifully when fried.

Serving suggestions

  • As a vegetable garnish, e.g. with components of leek, mushroom, or potato.
  • As a component in a stew.
  • As a basic ingredient for other recipes, such as crispy deep-fried cocktail onions.
