Chicken is the most common and most widely eaten bird in the world. There are many different types of meat chickens. Fryers are only 6 weeks old and weigh at least 2.2-2.5 kilos at that age. A French label rouge is 11.5 weeks old and weighs 1-1.6 kilos. It is important to prepare and store chicken correctly in order to prevent infections.
