Plums are oval, fleshy stone fruits (drupes) that can be purple-blue, yellow, or yellow-purple in colour depending on the variety. The fragrant fruits are subdivided into European species and Asian species. Asian plums are often larger and rounder than the European plums. Plums can be stored for one to two weeks at a temperature of between 1 and 4°C.
