Jambalaya
Jambalaya is a classic American dish that originates from Louisiana. It is a rice dish that is quite similar to paella. In addition to rice, it often consists of sausage, seafood, pork, chicken, lobster, prawns, and/or vegetables and a stock. The vegetables form the basis for the sofrito that is used for the jambalaya; this mixture consists of onion, celery, sweet pepper, and, for example, carrots, tomato, chilli pepper, or garlic.
